Terms of Service

1. The service

Pear (“Pear,” “we,” “us”) provides a Gmail inbox scanning service that uses AI to identify recurring subscription payments. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Pear. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are the authorised owner (or authorised user) of the Gmail account you connect.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at hello@pear.so if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Payment and refunds

Pear charges a one-time fee of €9.99 to unlock a scan. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. All prices include applicable VAT.

30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your scan results, contact us at hello@pear.so within 30 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund. No questions asked.

After the 30-day window, purchases are non-refundable.

5. Gmail access

To perform a scan, you authorise Pear to access your Gmail account via Google OAuth 2.0 with read-only permissions. This access is used solely to search for and classify subscription-related emails. We do not read, store, or share the content of your emails beyond the extraction described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google Account settings.

6. No guarantee of completeness

Pear uses AI to detect subscriptions from email patterns. While we work to maximise accuracy, we do not guarantee that all active subscriptions will be found. Factors outside our control — such as emails being sent to a different address, emails being deleted, or subscriptions that do not send billing emails — may result in some subscriptions being missed.

Pear is a detection tool, not a financial advisor. The information we provide should not be relied upon as a complete record of your financial commitments.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Pear to scan a Gmail account you do not own or are not authorised to access.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or reproduce the Pear service.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.
• Attempt to circumvent any security or access-control measures.

8. Intellectual property

All content, software, and design of the Pear service is owned by Pear and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pear's liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of savings, data, or profits, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any information provided by the service.

11. Changes to the service

We may modify or discontinue features of the service at any time. We will give reasonable notice of any changes that materially affect your use of a feature you have paid for.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you additional rights.
