How Pear works
Four steps from inbox to savings. The whole thing takes under five minutes.
Pick a credit pack — pay once
Choose Pear Basic (€4.99 · 4 audit credits) or Pear Plus (€9.99 · 12 audit credits). Each audit uses one credit — run a scan whenever you like, as many times as your credits allow. No subscription, no recurring billing, no auto-renewal. There's an intentional irony in charging a monthly fee to help you cancel subscriptions, so we chose not to.
Connect Gmail securely
Click “Scan my inbox” and you'll be taken to Google's own login screen. Pear uses Google's official OAuth 2.0 — we never see your password. We request read-only access only: we cannot send emails, delete emails, or modify your inbox in any way. Google revokes the connection immediately after the scan completes.
AI scans up to two years of emails
Pear searches your Gmail — inbox, Updates, and Promotions — for billing and subscription emails going back up to two years. AI reads the subject lines and senders to classify each one, then extracts the vendor name, cost, and billing frequency. The scan typically takes under 60 seconds. We never store the content of your emails — only the extracted data: vendor name, cost, and date.
See what you're paying — cancel what you don't need
Your dashboard shows every subscription found with the actual cost per month or year, plus your total monthly and annual spend. For any subscription you want to cancel, Pear links you directly to the cancellation instructions so you can stop the charge in a few clicks. Mark it cancelled and your savings counter updates instantly.
Common questions
Does Pear work with Gmail only?
Yes, currently Pear connects to Gmail via Google OAuth. Outlook and other providers are on the roadmap.
What if some subscriptions aren't found?
No scanner is perfect. Pear looks for billing emails — if a vendor sends receipts to a different address, or your inbox only goes back a few months, some may be missed. The Deep Scan feature reads full email bodies to find costs for anything initially marked as “cost unknown.”
Can I rescan my inbox later?
Yes — each audit uses one credit. If you have credits remaining, just click “Run Subscription Audit” on your dashboard to run a fresh scan. We recommend rescanning every few months to catch new subscriptions and price changes. If you run out of credits, you can buy another pack from your dashboard at any time.
How far back does the scan go?
Up to two years. This catches annual subscriptions that only renew once a year and are easy to forget about.
What about subscriptions in the Promotions or Updates tabs?
Pear searches all Gmail labels, not just your primary inbox — so billing emails that land in Promotions or Updates are included in the scan.
